City center plant nursery – Beyrouth (Liban), 1997

As part of its elaboration of a «Green Master Plan» concerning more than 60 squares and gardens, the Solidere company came up with the idea of presenting the future city centre plants in a temporary nursery, while work was underway.

It was fitting that this important place of culture, also a venue for conferences, receptions and promotion, should be able to offer an educational facility, a living museum of plants in the heart of the city. 6000 trees and 20,000 shrubs, all container-grown on site, were carefully selected throughout Europe and particularly in Italy for the species found in Lebanon.

These were supplemented by plant species necessary for the creation of production plots used for pedagogical purposes.
